School Nursing
Our named School Nurse is Carol Williams. She will see our children and families for a variety of different reasons: physical health issues, emotional health issues, behaviour issues, and many more.
The School Nurse has a duty of confidentiality to your child just like a Doctor. However, the School Nurse does encourage the young person to inform their parent if there was an issue raised which parents need to be aware of. If there was a Safeguarding Matter she would contact you immediately. If necessary she would contact Children’s Social Services and inform school of the concern.
The School Nurse often refers young people to the Paediatrician or Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) for further support. She receives referrals from GP’s and Teachers. She can also take referrals directly from parents. School have a referral form or you can contact Carol on:-

Our School Nursing services carry out the National Child Measurement Programme and School Health Needs Assessments. They also provide advice on health promotion and health issues for older children and teenagers. School Nurses usually see children at school or college. You will be sent information about the visits that the School Nurse makes to the school and permission will be sought for the National Child Measurement Programme when this takes place.
Coronovirus Information
Following the recent coronavirus outbreak, the Health for Kids website has been updated with information about the coronavirus.
This webpage provides children with age-appropriate information to explain the coronavirus and the things they can do to help stop the spread of the virus and look after themselves physically and emotionally during this unsettling time.
