Welcome

Welcome to Our Lady & St. Gerard's RC Primary School

'United in love and the light of Jesus, we inspire one another to learn, grow and shine.'

LOVE, INSPIRE, SHINE

Our Lady and St. Gerard's is a busy, friendly Roman Catholic Primary school, located in the heart of Lostock Hall.  We have a maximum intake of 50 and have two classes per year group.  We have a Nursery, taking children from age 3, with its own outdoor area and a large Reception unit, again with a large outdoor space to enhance learning. We are blessed with two playgrounds and large playing fields with a wide variety of outdoor equipment.  We are conveniently located next door to the church of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Gerard Majella, with which we have strong links.  We have a breakfast club, led by our own staff, open daily from 7:45am.  There is an after school club, led by an external provider, held in our school hall and we also have many after school activities/clubs.

We place Christ, as teacher and educator, in the centre of all that we do and are committed to providing quality education for all God's children so that they can reach their full potential and '...have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10).  We believe that children thrive where there is a love of learning, and where children feel supported, respected and safe.  We have a dedicated team of staff who are committed to providing safe, exciting and enriching learning experiences for all our children. We strive for academic excellence and expect every child to fulfil their potential.  We celebrate everyone’s uniqueness and the gifts and talents that our children have. Every child is unique and precious - it is a privilege to play a part in their educational, spiritual, moral and physical development. We aim to provide all our children, regardless of needs, with the skills, knowledge, resilience, enthusiasm and life skills which will equip them to lead a successful and happy life.  Our Learning Mentor and Pupil and Family Support Worker work with children and families to reduce any barriers to learning.

Our school works closely with parents, the parish, the local authority, Salford Diocese, the WRIST cluster and local primary and secondary schools to ensure the best for all our children. We also have a strong and committed parent/staff group who support the school through fundraising events.

This website aims to give you an overview of our school, showcasing some of the fabulous work and numerous events which we embrace, in addition to providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We are very, very proud of all that we offer and achieve.  We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have. If you would like to view the school please contact the school office and we will arrange a viewing.
