Hope in the Future

In 2023, some of our KS2 GIFT team took part in the Salford Diocese Hope in the Future event. This was a collection of schools who were working together to improve our common home. We made a pledge that we would work towards a better world and these pledges were sent to Rome for the Pope.

Harvest Festival

In October, we began the month with a mass.  Our children celebrated the Harvest Festival by donating food to distribute to local people and food banks.  The church is always beautifully decorated and we welcome the families to join us to celebrate the harvest.  The KS2 Worship Leaders helped to lead a prayer in assembly to ensure we knew the importance of the Harvest Festival and we could have a moment in prayer together.

Rosary

During October, we focused on the rosary through regular prayer, Rosary Club and visits to Mary's Grotto behind our church.

Interviewing Fr Mark

Our Year 6 children interviewed Father Mark to find out why he became a priest. They asked questions relating to Parish life, his family and what his role as a priest involves on a day to day basis.

Retreat Day

Our whole school took part in a retreat day.  Just after our Ofsted inspection, it fell at a great time for all of us.  We started with some songs and prayers led by One Life music, online.  We then had the opportunity to relax, unwind, reflect and recharge.  We took part in guided meditation, stretching, mindful activities and personal reflection.
