Prayer and Liturgy Leaders
Our Prayer and Liturgy Team work on a number of projects aimed at supporting everyone in our community to live by The Gospel Values. We aim to support children in our school to develop their faith and grow closer to God. The purpose of our pupil worship team is to promote friendship, love and respect in school and in the wider community and to help to uphold the school mission statement.
Our Prayer and Liturgy Team will undertake the following activities during the year:
- Planning and delivering celebrations of the word in whole school acts of worship and in their classrooms
- Helping to prepare class and whole school masses
- Taken an active role in assemblies
- Introduce the Alternative Advent Countdown collection for The Foxton Centre
- Setting up prayer stations and helping the younger children use them
Autumn Term
During the Autumn Term, we were busy welcoming everyone back into our school community.
In September, we created a prayer space for children to pray for events around the world, such as, conflicts, poverty and promoting peace.
In October we celebrated the month of the Rosary and supported the teachers in running a rosary club for KS1 and KS2.
In November, to remember all the departed, we prepared and carried out an assembly for Remembrance Day. Throughout the month of November, families were invited to take home a prayer bag, which had different prayers for families to promote peace and remember their loved ones who have died.
