'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'
Philippians 4:13
We wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all the Year 2 children and families into our class this year. We hope that you find all the information you need here but if you want to find out more, please check our stories on Class Dojo. As always, we are here to make this a memorable year for your child, let’s work together to ''Love, Inspire and Shine.''
Homework
Homework will be set on a Friday and can be returned any time before the following Friday.
Reading Books
We aim to change books each Monday and ask that reading wallets are in school everyday. Please read your child's book with them, at least three times a week. An adult will read with your child each week in school.
Worship and Reflection Areas.
We have a dedicated worship and reflection area in class. Here the children are encouraged to spend time reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and consider how they fulfil each of our Christian values both at school and at home.
General Reminders
- Our PE days are Mondays and Fridays (Armstrong) and Tuesdays and Fridays (Lovelace).
- The children will also need their own water bottle in school, which they have access to all day. Please make sure that they are clearly labelled and are not too big.
- Please note that large school bags do not fit in our cloakrooms so please ensure these are small.
- Earrings are not permitted to be worn in school and children will be asked to remove these if they are wearing them.
- Black school shoes to be worn at all times (trainers are only permitted for PE).
- Long hair must be tied back.
Our Behaviour Charter
Our school Behaviour Policy is built upon the ‘5 pillars of Pivotal Practice’ (‘When Adults Change, Everything Changes’, Paul Dix):
Consistent, calm adult behaviour,
Relentless Routines,
First attention to best conduct,
Scripting difficult conversations,
Restorative Follow-up.
We have three simple goals: Be safe, Be a Learner, Be Kind and Respectful.
