Welcome to our Digital Leaders page!
We are the newest group of Digital Leaders and our names are: Laszlo, Phoebe, Rosie, Star, Holly, Mollie, Will, Scarlett and Lanika. Throughout the year we will be promoting lots of computing initiatives and helping with computing in the different classes. We will be making sure the children in school know about Online-Safety and how to behave appropriately on the internet, mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices.
We meet regularly after school and are excited about Safer Internet Day this year (coming soon!). Presenting Online Safety in assemblies is a very important part of our role and we take it very seriously and act responsibly at all times.
Our role also includes helping teachers to set up laptops in class and to make sure that the computers and surfaces are put away properly and securely after each lesson. Helping the younger children to learn how to log on to the computers and how to access their work on Purple Mash is one of our most regular activities. The children love it when we can teach them new skills.
We have been busy this year already, with various activities and roles across the school. Year 1 and 2 have been working on the Coding area of the computing curriulum and we have been helping them to create algorithms with the Blue Bots. Year 2 have enjoyed us helping them with their coding on Purple Mash. We were able to help them to understand that they must keep their passwords safe and private, as well as helping them with their work tasks, making sure they learn how to save their work too.
We are also responsible for making sure the laptop trolleys and the Surface trolleys are charged up each day and put away tidily. The teachers let us know which hymns they'd like for the class and school assemblies and we locate them and organise them on the hall computer.
